There are two certifications required for working as a lifeguard anywhere in the United States:
1) the Lifeguard Training certification with First Aid and
2) The CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
These certifications may be American Red Cross or an equivalent, such as YMCA, or Starguard.
Carolina Pool Management - Greensboro offers both Lifeguard Training certification and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. These are American Red Cross classes and the certifications you receive for passing the class are American Red Cross certifications.

The full lifeguard certification class is offered over the course of two weekends. This class is for new lifeguards or lifeguards who would like to recertify and want to retake the entire class. You must attend all four days for completion.
